New Member Program Overview

The Junior League of Gwinnett and North Fulton Counties (JLGNF) New Member Program is designed with the purpose of introducing New Members to all aspects of the League. The activities and requirements of the New Member Program are specifically chosen so that each New Member has a better understanding of our community projects, voluntarism, fundraising, and leadership development.

All activities and requirements must be met by the end of the New Member Program in order to become an Active Member of JLGNF. The New Member must complete all activities and requirements by April 30, 2020 in order to become Active at the May 2020 Annual Meeting.


Meetings & Class Project Requirements

Fulfillment of the following:

  • Attend New Member Orientation & Training (August 24, 2019)
  • Participate in New Member Class Project
  • Attend 4 of 9 General Membership Meetings (2nd Tuesday of each month)
  • Attend 5 of 8 New Member Meetings (4th Thursday of each month); and
  • Participate in a Placement Interview for the 2020-2021 League year

New Members are strongly encouraged to attend General Membership Meetings and New Member Meetings, but we understand there can be conflicts. New Members may make up missed meetings to meet attendance requirements by participating in:

  • Junior League University (JLU) Trainings
  • Additional Community IMPACT Events/Shifts
  • Open Council Meetings
Financial, Fundraising & Volunteer Requirements

Fulfillment of the following: 

  • By August 23, payment of New Member Annual Dues & Course Fee of $300; inclusive of:
    • JLGNF's Annual Membership Dues ($250)
    • New Member Orientation & Training
    • New Member Meetings
    • JLGNF Name Tag
    • One (1) Ticket to JLGNF's Signature Fundraiser (High Heels & High Times); and
    • One (1) JLGNF Branded Item
  • Completion of a 2-hour shift at JLGNF's Signature Fundraiser (High Heels & High Times)
  • Completion of a Community IMPACT Shift
Payment Information

A New Member Application must be completed and signed and payment of the New Member Annual Dues & Course Payment of $300 to the Junior League of Gwinnett & North Fulton Counties must be made by Friday, August 23, 2019 in order to be part of the 2019-2020 New Member Class.
